T-Ross Brothers Construction completed a major industrial expansion project for Prysmian involving the construction of a 52,950-square-foot Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) addition integrated directly into the company’s existing operations.

Designed to support Prysmian’s continued growth and production goals, the expansion added modern industrial space while maintaining continuity with the facility’s existing layout, workflow, and building systems. The project required extensive coordination to successfully connect new construction with active operations while minimizing disruption to day-to-day manufacturing activities.

Delivered through coordinated design and construction services, the project included the architectural and structural design package for the PEMB addition along with foundations and supporting infrastructure systems. The completed structure was engineered to meet IBC 2018 requirements and incorporated high-performance building envelope components including standing seam roofing and insulated metal wall systems designed for durability, efficiency, and long-term performance.

A significant portion of the work involved selective demolition and modifications to existing plant structures to accommodate structural tie-ins, circulation improvements, and operational workflow enhancements across multiple connected buildings.

The expansion also included foundations, poured-in-place concrete retaining and perimeter walls, and a reinforced slab-on-grade floor system designed to support industrial operations and equipment demands. Exterior improvements included sidewalks, dock access, and ramp construction to improve accessibility and logistics throughout the facility.

Mechanical systems installed as part of the project included ventilation, gas piping, radiant heating systems, and safety monitoring controls. Electrical work included high-bay lighting, exterior lighting, equipment power distribution, and integrated control systems designed to support industrial production requirements.

To support safety and code compliance, the project also included installation of a new wet sprinkler fire protection system throughout the addition.
