T-Ross Brothers Construction completed the construction of the Community Giving Foundation building in Berwick, Pennsylvania, delivering a modern commercial facility designed around sustainable building practices and long-term community use.

Designed by Lack & Strosser Architecture and Susan McGarry, RA, the one-story Green Building was carefully planned to provide functional office and meeting space while incorporating environmentally conscious design principles throughout the project. The completed facility includes several meeting spaces, private offices, and a shower room designed to support the daily operations of the foundation and provide a comfortable, efficient environment for staff and visitors.

Throughout the project, T-Ross Brothers Construction worked closely with the design team to implement a variety of sustainable construction features without compromising the building’s appearance or functionality. The project incorporated daylighting strategies to maximize natural light within interior spaces, helping improve energy efficiency and occupant comfort throughout the facility.

Additional sustainable design elements included reduced water usage through efficient plumbing fixtures, the use of regional building materials such as locally sourced brick, windows, and shingles, and recycled-content interior finishes. A key objective of the project was to demonstrate that environmentally conscious construction can be seamlessly integrated into traditional commercial architecture without creating a “space age” appearance or significantly increasing construction costs.
