MONTANDON, PA — T-Ross Brothers Construction, Inc. is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 Construction Scholarship. This year’s recipients, Alex Emick of Montoursville Area High School and Carter Smith of Selinsgrove Area High School, were selected for their outstanding academic achievements, strong work ethic, and passion for pursuing careers in the construction industry.
Established in 2018, the T-Ross Brothers Construction Scholarship supports graduating seniors from Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union counties who are pursuing degrees in construction-related fields. Preference is given to students with industry experience or those planning to focus on carpentry, construction management, or trade school education.
Alex Emick, 18, will attend Pennsylvania College of Technology to study Building Construction. A Montoursville native born in South Korea, Alex is a member of the PA Army National Guard, a volunteer with the Plunketts Creek Fire Department, and a 4.0 GPA student. He credits his parents’ dedication and his role models—his father, Jason, and Colorado craftsman Jarod Coffman—for inspiring his path. “This scholarship allows me to focus more on school and less on financial stress. It brings me one step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a general contractor and eventually moving into land development,” said Emick.
Carter Smith, 19, of Middleburg, will pursue a degree in Concrete Science at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Raised around the concrete business through his family’s work at Pocono Transcrete, Carter’s long-term goal is to own a ready-mix concrete company. “This scholarship means a lot to me and my family. It helps relieve the financial burdens that come with college,” Smith shared. Carter’s experience in FFA and his commitment to community service reflect the values the scholarship program aims to support.
“We are proud to support these two remarkable individuals as they take their next steps in the construction field,” said Todd Ross, President of T-Ross Brothers Construction. “Their stories reflect the hard work, commitment, and leadership that our industry needs for the future.”
