Project Overview
T-Ross Brothers Construction served as the general contractor for the Patton Railway Service Building #3 Addition in Milton, Pennsylvania. This project consisted of the construction of a 26,666-square-foot pre-engineered metal building designed to expand the facility’s rail service and warehouse capabilities.
The addition was developed as an open warehouse environment, providing flexible space to support logistics and material handling operations. The building features two loading docks along with a dedicated train car loading and unloading area, allowing the facility to efficiently accommodate both truck and rail freight.
The scope of work included furnishing and installing the complete building system, including foundations, frost and retaining walls, and a reinforced concrete slab-on-grade. The project also involved modifications to the existing structure, including adjustments to wall systems, framing, and overhead door openings to ensure a seamless integration between the new and existing buildings.
Significant concrete work was completed as part of the project, including loading dock walls, forklift ramp slabs, and interior and exterior slab-on-grade installations designed to withstand heavy industrial use. Additional elements such as dock leveler pits, protective bollards, and sloped concrete areas were incorporated to support rail siding operations and daily warehouse activity.
The pre-engineered metal building system included structural framing, insulated wall and roof systems, and a standing seam roof assembly, creating a durable and weather-tight structure. The project also included the installation of overhead doors, walk doors, and other building components necessary for efficient day-to-day operations.
Construction was executed through a coordinated sequence of sitework, concrete placement, structural steel erection, and system installations, ensuring a smooth progression from initial groundwork to final completion.
This project highlights T-Ross Brothers Construction’s experience in industrial expansions and rail-served facilities, delivering a functional and efficient space tailored to the operational needs of Patton Warehousing and Logistics.
