Project Overview

Prysmian’s facility expansion is a major industrial improvement project involving the construction of a 52,950-square-foot Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) addition integrated into Prysmian’s existing operations. Delivered by T-Ross Brothers Construction, the project was designed to increase production and operational capacity while maintaining continuity with the existing plant layout and building systems.

The addition was engineered to meet IBC 2018 requirements and incorporates high-performance building envelope components, including standing seam roofing and insulated metal wall systems to support durability, efficiency, and long-term performance. The scope also included complex coordination with existing structures—requiring selective demolition, structural tie-ins, and upgrades to accommodate new circulation, stability requirements, and workflow improvements across multiple connected buildings.

Beyond the new building footprint, the project also included significant infrastructure improvements such as slab-on-grade construction, new exterior sidewalks and dock/ramp access, and integration of mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems to support industrial use.

Scope of Work Provided by T-Ross Brothers Construction:

• Architectural and structural design package for the PEMB addition and foundations
• Construction of the 52,950 SF PEMB addition and integration with existing facilities
• Selective demolition and modifications to existing plant structures to enable expansion tie-ins
• Foundations, poured-in-place concrete retaining/perimeter walls, and reinforced slab-on-grade floor system
• Exterior concrete work including sidewalks, exterior dock, and ramp access improvements
• Installation of high-performance insulated metal roof and wall systems
• Mechanical systems including ventilation, gas piping, radiant heaters, and safety monitoring controls
• Electrical systems including high-bay lighting, exterior lighting, controls, and power for mechanical equipment
• Fire protection installation including a new wet sprinkler system throughout the addition
• Coordination with permitting support and project sequencing to minimize disruption to active operations
